I enjoyed putting the delicate washes of rose madder genuine, cobalt blue and aureolin to make it as light as possible. It is in stark contrast to the rocks done in multiple layers of staining colors—"working hard" is never a good thing in my mind in watercolor! Perhaps it appears that the souffle has fallen, so to speak!<div><br></div><div>I use Photoshop all the time for my design work though if I've painted something that will ultimately be a painting on a wall, I don't color correct as a rule. I try to do that in my painting the first time. </div><div><br></div><div>I used delicate washes of cadmium orange in the foreground to get the giant rock and sand to come forward. Perhaps it was not successful enough, based on your comments.
