How awful.<br>

OK, just don't give them a choice. No choice. One paper, and one
paper alone is suitable. I got my students to buy<br>
2 sheets of Arches 140 lb cold press paper, have the store cut them
into fourths. We had 8 painting sessions.<br>
<br>
The first class, sure enough, people thought that they knew better than
I did. Showed up with a various assortment<br>
of terrible, terrible pads, etc. <br>
<br>
But when they saw the difference in what they did and what their more
compliant students did, they came back next<br>
time with the right thing. Wasted money on some stuff not worth a dime
and ended up spending more in the end.<br>
<br>
A good comparison to make is this: Some things are not satisfactory
when you think you are getting a bargain.<br>
Such as dishwashing liquid. Go ahead and buy the good one, you are
going to use the off brand up twice as fast and<br>
not save any money! (Just for an example).<br>
