Hi Phyllis, I use a wide,
clear shipping tape. I love it. It's hard to get off the gator board
but it's great
coming off the paper. It's 2 inches wide so no problem about taping
off an inch and having another inch
to attach it to your board. I also have some pieces of thick foam core
board which I have put this tape
on because if you try to pull it up, it pulls up some of the surface of
the board. What I wanted to do was
put some on there neatly and permanently, so that when I repeatedly
tape a piece of paper, take that one
off when it's done, tape another one, having the edges of the board
coated with this tape helps a lot.

I hope to goodness that made sense because I am up at 3:25 a.m. and not
even sure if I am coherent!!!

Now, I had been buying this tape at CVS for around $2.95 a roll.
However, I found some, it looks exactly
the same, for a dollar at Dollar General, it's their brand, and I have
not tried it yet. If it works as well,
I will save some pennies and also the Dollar General store is only 2
miles from my house!

The tape is strong, waterproof, gives you a white margin to be looking
at while you are painting since
it is transparent, but when you get ready to remove it, you may need a
little help from a pair of scissors.
It has not torn my paper yet!
