Seems I missed an email, or misread it, quite possible as I have had a
number of "ailments " this past year and am not quite up to par yet.
If I had realized that the "Save a pet" was the wrong theme I would
certainly been more careful in my choice.
Are we doing historical painting from now on? Or was that for this month
only? Phyllis

Subject: [Aquanet] Raymond's question
Raymond--I suspect the reason for the difference in participation was that
the previous format allowed for participation without any limitation other
than the theme of the month. This allows everyone to share and enjoy each
other's artwork without any pressure--old or new paintings, any subject, as
long as somehow connected to the theme. Personally, I was thrilled to see
the work of artists I've been acquainted with for years and knew little
about their art. The monthly format allowed enough time for many artists to
do something new or find something in their files that would fit.
The new format puts constraints on that enthusiasm. I, for one, don't have
time to search for a "challenge" artwork, post it, and paint my own version
of it. I seldom have time to paint anything these days. And nothing I've
seen posted comes even close to stimulating me to do it for the Aquanet
site. With the previous format, I checked the site frequently to see what
was new and to enjoy the many styles and interpretations of the themes.
I hope this helps. Just one opinion, I know.
