Hello -- Thank you to all of you who gave me your thoughts on Leaf by Moonlight.  I made a few changes based on your suggestions 
-- since the painting is 12x16, I was able to shift the leaf from the center by using a standard mat
-- I added a calligraphic flourish under the right side of the leaf to show direction of movement (how's that Nita? not sure if this is what you meant)
-- added a glaze in the upper right corner
-- tried to add some red to the lower edges of the leaf, but they ended up looking a darker gold, but still gave the leaf more definition.
