Bonjour Pat,
Because of a tragic death in my immediate family, my painting had been absent from my life for a little more than a year. My family and I went on vacation to Florida for a week last March (since I live in Quebec, this was a major change of scenery and weather conditions!!!) and I took many photos and visited aquariums. I decided to try and paint something that I had never done before. The results were two small paintings, one of a seahorse and the other a turtle that I enjoyed doing and proved to me that I hadn't lost all of my skills. I know that it is hard to get back to painting when you haven't done it for a while but I enjoyed the challenge and since it was something that I had never done before, I didn't have to high expectations. The fact that they were of very small dimensions (4" x 6") made it easier too!
Good luck !

Subject: [Aquanet] getting back to "work"
Hi, gang.
Well, it's time to get back at the easel now that summer has passed into fall. That's the trouble. I have not done any art since last March, and the Muse is off in La-la Land somewhere. Yesterday I spent a fruitless hour in the "studio" desperately seeking inspiration, but any ideas were much too grandiose for where I am right now, having to re-establish my basic skills. Does anyone have any simple, easily-completed exercises they use to get a kick-start in such situations?
:-(
Pat
