[Aquanet] Venice

Recently I was fortunate enough to win a significant prize for one of my
watercolour paintings and have decided to put it towards a trip to Venice. 

 

I fell in love with it about three years ago when I visited it with my wife
on a European tour. However it was a whirlwind stay and not nearly long
enough, so I have wanted to go back for a longer stay ever since.

 

My idea is to spend about 10 days there next year just walking around,
taking photos, sketching and painting as the urge strikes me. To keep costs
down I would like to stay at some place which has cooking facilities or at
worst a fridge.

 

I am hoping some of you on the list have been to Venice and can possibly
give me some advice about suitable motels and apartments. If they have
someone who can speak English that would be of help as I don't speak any
Italian at this stage!

 

Currently I intend to arrive around the last week of April.

 

Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated.
