Thanks for sharing your vivid images of beautiful sinking Venice.  It's
thirty years since I've been there and I think it is still a most
enchanting city, especially the soft light. On my second trip it was
raining and St. Marks was flooded. The magnificent bronze horses had been
removed from the terrace of  the Basilica because of air pollution. 
After 5 centuries out in all weather,  in only 170 more years after they
were returned from Paris they were becoming damaged by pollution.  As the
oceans keep rising due to global warming Venice is more threatened.  
How we love their glass and those ornate masks.
