Thanks for your comment and question about my 
painting "Windswept". 
I start with a simplified plan that focuses on 
the "swing" (movement) and rhythm I wish to express. Equally 
important, decisions are made concerning a repetition of basic shapes 
and colour to establish unity and mood.  Once I have these design 
elements clearly in my head I have the confidence and freedom to let the work 
flow and grow!
