Louise -- I think it would be difficult to add it now, but in my imagination I saw some red or orange peaking through here and there, melting into the yellow and blue, in the background to the upper right of the eggs and serendipitously along the edges of the painting to the right.  It's a lovely painting.  If it were mine, I probably would not make that kind of change now.  It's a thought for the future.   Patricia

Patricia,
Thank you for your critique.  I did enjoy doing the painting, but
because I hadn't painted in such a long time it was difficult, especially
getting the shapes right without using a masking fluid while keeping the
background so loose.  I love doing loose backgrounds, but always seem to
have a problem keeping any lines of my drawing from being too wiggly.  I
don't usually do a detailed drawing and that could be a problem, but I also
don't like to feel that I'm "coloring in" a painting, like in a coloring
book.
Can you be more clear for me on where you would add those "bright
contrasting colors along the edges or peaking through the background" -- did you
mean close to the egg shells?  And what contrasting color would you
suggest?
Thanks again for your critique.
Louise

Louise -- I love the loose painting style you have
chosen.  I'm imagining that this was a relaxing painting for you to
do, even tho you felt pressure to accomplish something.  Am I
right?  My only suggestion is if you could add some bright
contrasting color along the edges or peaking through the background to
give the painting more excitement.  Patricia
