Patricia,
Thank you for your critique. I did enjoy doing the painting, but because I hadn't painted in such a long time it was difficult, especially getting the shapes right without using a masking fluid while keeping the background so loose. I love doing loose backgrounds, but always seem to have a problem keeping any lines of my drawing from being too wiggly. I don't usually do a detailed drawing and that could be a problem, but I also don't like to feel that I'm "coloring in" a painting, like in a coloring book.
Can you be more clear for me on where you would add those "bright contrasting colors along the edges or peaking through the background" -- did you mean close to the egg shells? And what contrasting color would you suggest?
Thanks again for your critique.
Louise

Louise -- I love the loose painting style you have chosen. I'm imagining that this was a relaxing painting for you to do, even tho you felt pressure to accomplish something. Am I right? My only suggestion is if you could add some bright contrasting color along the edges or peaking through the background to give the painting more excitement. Patricia
