Brilliant ideas, guys! although it may not be the season where we need to be pushed. Perhaps we could wait until the new year and then maybe do it every other month.

I think that is an excellent proposal, Pat.
In the spirit of "pushing", the call should emphasize NOT copying the subject painting literally.

Hi, gang.
I'm going to suggest a different kind of "theme' for December. With the present set up, what I do is look at the topic and then hunt thru my paintings to see if I have any that will serve. Somehow I don't think I am unique- at least not in that way. The trouble is that this doesn't push one at all, so I am suggesting something like this: we post a photo or suggest a theme like 'Flowers a la Gaugin", and then we paint a new piece that fits the criteria- either our own interpretation of the photo or our owm attempt "a la Gaugin". It might just push us to try something outside our comfort zones.
Any reactions?
