I think that is an excellent proposal, Pat.

In the spirit of "pushing", the call should emphasize NOT copying the
subject painting literally.

Subject: [Aquanet] December project

Hi, gang.

I'm going to suggest a different kind of "theme' for December. With the
present set up, what I do is look at the topic and then hunt thru my
paintings to see if I have any that will serve. Somehow I don't think I am
unique- at least not in that way. The trouble is that this doesn't push one
at all, so I am suggesting something like this: we post a photo or suggest a
theme like 'Flowers a la Gaugin", and then we paint a new piece that fits
the criteria- either our own interpretation of the photo or our owm attempt
"a la Gaugin". It might just push us to try something outside our comfort
zones.

Any reactions?

:-)
Pat
