[Aquanet] Barb's Hat Painting

O what a chuckle!  I have a friend who saw an old woman in her kitchen floor and did the same thing (she paints in acrylic). I never could see it in her floor, but the painting is of an old bag lady feeding pigeons, and is called Lady of Linoleum in honor of the floor...........

  Carol, 

  This painting has a long history -  first I collaged an old abstract watercolor painting with tissue paper and mat acrylic medium.  I then drybrushed a thin layer of Gesso over the painting with a bristle brush.  Then I drew the composition with pencil and finished with traditional watercolor techniques.  The inspiration for the subject was a face I saw in the bathroom floor.  Everytime I went into to bathroom I would see the image - I figured the only way to exorcise that image from my head was to paint it - so that is the whole story - and I'm sticking to itJ
