So much good conversation and good advice! 



It is true that as an artist the need to explore becomes too compelling to ignore.  The more difficult thing is to ignore that inner need for approval from those around us.  Who doesn't appreciate a, "Wow, that's terrific", from the more tepid "Uh, that's.......nice", or an "I liked your other work better". 



I agree that an exhibition of work showing similarity of style rather than being all over the place is a good idea.  I look back on the group shows I've been part of where I displayed everything I'd been doing and realize now that that approach is not a wise one.  Richard, thanks for those comments. 



I'm going to forward all of the group's comments to my photographer friend and I know he'll appreciate the insights of the group.
