Hello Raymond

Thanks for asking.
My group and I tried to paint shiny surfaces. My first try was terrible,
then I think I was just more than an hour busy observing and thinking
about how to do it, since I dont have silver paint. By squeezing my eyes I
just saw extreme light and dark patterns. After drawing the cutlery i again
squeezed my eyes and only painted what I saw, first a light grey wash around
the edges of the knife and fork leaving lots of white paper. After that has
dried I looked where to put the darkest paint and with a small brush with a
sharp tip I filled in the darks. Finally it was a very easy and a very quick
painting. My teacher didn't demonstrate, just gave us the advice : Only
paint what you see and concentrate on the contrasts between dark and light.
I guess it worked.

Swiss greetings
Claudia Arztmann

and while they're all beautiful...
Claudia I must say that the fluidity of the reflections on the cutlery
really moved me. Can you describe the technique you used, in detail?

Thanks
