[Aquanet] June Critique

I love the way the artist has rendered the lace in this painting. I have read that she is not an experience watercolorist but I would be very proud of this painting if I was her. If I can mention some comments of where I would try to improve this painting it would be the following: the shadow to the left of the bowl is well done but I wonder if it would seem more appropriate for a glass bowl since it seems to render a kind of transparence. The bowl also seem to be flotting over the lace tablecloth especially on the left side. My other comments have already been noted by the other members : the position of the bowl and the cherries being the same color.

Overall, it is a very well done work and I understand why offers were made to buy it.

Good job!

This painting is beautifully done and the fact that it is not obvious exactly what material the bowl is, makes no difference to me in the painting's overall appearance. Something was bothering me, though, and I couldn't quite figure it out until several people mentioned the tone of the cherries being identical. And that was it, of course. I'm annoyed with myself that I didn't see it!

I think you can be very proud of this painting, Shawna, for the obvious skill it took to achieve it.

  Good work!
