The Betts book is in my top 10. If you can't find this one, look for the original: "Master Class in Watercolor." It's virtually the same content with different illustrations. And much more affordable.

  If you can find it, I'd recommend getting/borrowing this book: Master Class in Watermedia by Edward Betts. His best work, IMHO, are his abstracts and semi-abstracts, and he gives a lot of info, some usable, on abstracting from reality. I have it from the libaray and have to take it back soon. I checked on-line to buy it, but it is out of print and the used copies for sale are rather dear.
