[Aquanet] rediscovering the fun

Hi, gang.

Lately I have been taking my painting too seriously, seriously enough
that it had become more like work than an enjoyable hobby. Since I'm
retired and I don't need to sell to live, that was pretty stupid of me.

In any event, for the last two days I have been having a hoot making
silly little greeting cards. The first was made as a monoprint where I
painted a nothing wee landscape on glass with w/c and gouache and
transferred it to wet w/c paper; the second was done with children's
washable felt markers on card stock. It was then wet and sprinkled with
pickling salt. The results of both are
very pleasing to me. I'll do a few more of these before returning to
"serious" painting as they've given me quite an emotional lift, esp. at
the end of a long winter.
