[Aquanet] Critique

Its great to hear "the color is glorious" when I'm painting black
rocks! Isn't that the best thing about watercolor? I love the
transparencies that we can achieve. I'm trying to do the same in oil
now but was really taught "alla prima" painting so that watercolor is
such a relief to go back to. I particularly like the play of
quinacridone gold layered over indanthrone blue or thalo green for
sparkly affects. And the warm layers of alizarin with the quin gold
holds the light in the hot spots. Hawai'i has plenty of those!
Nice to hear from you! Thank you. This is my first time offering a
painting for the monthly critique in my seven years with Aquanet!
