[Aquanet] stain v:s dye

My thanks for Barry, Pat and Nita for the great answers to my questions. 
It is obvious that much thought was put into your posts and I appreciate 
it very much. From what is said, it appears that whether a colour is a 
pigment or dye doesn't really matter wrt our purposes. What does matter 
is the relative light-fastness of the pigment/dye, and this is 
determined by the 'substance' itself, not on the stain/dye name 
itself.... and that some colours that are not "light-fast" will outlast 
most of us anyway.

So I should take Pat's advice and spend more time painting and less time 
worrying.
