Thanks David this is really helping a lot as I struggle to have a drop-in
Christmas card making time at the gallery. I am mixing collage and
watercolor painting, it ought to be a lot of fun altho’ I cannot get over
the prices for some of these craft materials!. Phyllis

David, thank you so much for your very thorough and clear explanation! I
really appreciate it! I'm going to have to look around for an opportunity
here to try the same thing. It's a great idea. Thank you for taking the time
to answer so completely!

I set up a 10x10 easyup at the flower/plant sale at our school/church that
was one week before mothers day.

They supplied the tables but I do have rubbermaid tables that I could have
brought along. The chairs are also theirs. I brought all the
supplies.....watercolor paper (I cut up sheets of 140), I bought cheaper
paint in cakes and I got some of that cheaper reeves watercolor paint in the
tubes, plastic plates for palettes, brushes, pencils, erasers, backing
board(cardboard that I cut up), tape, water containers(plastic cups) and
water, 5 gallon buckets for the water, string and cloths pins to hang the
the paintings that were done to dry and show (you can see this in the
picture in the link). I also brought 4 different reference photos of flowers
that I put in plastic sleeves, these were the photos that they could choose
to paint.

Usually most of the people who sat down to paint a watercolor were kids from
young to high school kids, then there also were a few adults. I charged 5
dollars for one painting session.
I would help a lot when it came to the drawing and decided next time I would
bring some already printed on watercolor paper sketches. I would run
watercolor paper through the printer .
This would only be for those that wanted not to draw and just paint.

I’ve done this three years in a row but stopped last year and moms called me
and asked why I didn’t set up the painting tent, thgey were disappointed
that they didn’t get painting done by their kids for mothers day.

Here’s the link to my set-up HYPERLINK

I am WAY behind on my emails- my Outlook crashed and I've been out of town
some. Did David ever answer this question, Pat? I'd LOVE to know some more
details as well. I think this is a terrific idea!! David, if you've already
answered it and I somehow missed it, would you mind resending it? This is a
great idea.

Thank you!
