Hi, Pat-

I think variation2 preserves much of what was best about the original, and
perhaps strengthens it, but I think the new horizontal dark bands are too
relentlessly horizontal and fragment the sense of the picture space.  They
need more variation in shape, and perhaps some linbking into the other
shapes.  The other variations "jangle" for me, but perhaps you were revising
your concept, and they should be viewed on their own.

Hi, gang.

A while ago, I asked for suggestions on strengthening a painting I had 
done, and many of you generously took the time to offer compliments, 
criticisms and suggestions... and I do appreciate that.

At the Flik'r site (http://www.flickr.com/photos/30425828@N04/ ) I have 
added three new variations to the original. Unfortunately, the original 
no longer exists as I worked on it to create Variation 2. I'm sort of 
kicking myself as I'm not sure if I have improved it or not. In any 
event, the images are there for comments.
