Hi Pat<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Although Barry's approach is definitely one that I like,

I could suggest another option...

You like the abstract concept, right? OK, stick to it... It isn't a bad idea. I really like it. It's a real watercolor with great potential.

Just (perhaps) you could play selectively around, adding some color (wet in wet) near some edges, so that you better define forms and shapes.

It would have been better, if you had done this right away, now you have to be carefull not to disturb the already painted areas.

So, stay loyal to your first approach, it's really OK... Just add some contrast now... Remember, you have the grip, you decide how this land is.

Leave any photos or sketches away. Now it's YOUR land, YOUR universe and the most important YOUR painting.

The recipe now is simple and you definitely know it: just one area a time, clear water to the area, wait a little bit, darker pigment (not VERY diluted) wet in wet.

Then step back and watch the diffusion...

Pick some such edges that would create interest through contrast! It's up to you...

I can give some of my ideas in the attached image. Just how I can see it now. BUT, after the first pigment addition wet in wet, you 'll have a visual result that will guide you to the next steps. The eye cooperates with the brain and both of them

1. want to create balance

2. love contrast (even if they "don't admit it")

In your painting you have interesting shapes, you have the alternating areas, it's already OK, you can define them more and make the overall result more exciting by some contrasts...

Just my ideas, and sorry if sometimes my english make some things sound ... "funny"
