I have seen many of Lorraine's large exquisite floral watercolors here in
the United States in the North East Watercolor Society's International
shows and they literally burst with life so that you want to rush and
smell them or hold them. They draw many enthusiastic viewers. I am the
fortunate owner of a smaller original which I hang near my bed so that
when I wake up the flowers remind me of what I love best, my garden and
my artists friends. Watercolors are the most permanent media and have
been in existence thousands of years. The ancient Roman Frescoes and the
Lescaut cave paintings for instance. The luminous colors are like
stained glass as the light that bounces off the white paper shines
through the transparent pigment.
Lorraine has mastered watercolor painting which many find the most
difficult.
