Hi again, Pat et al.
This message has been sitiing in my Ubuntu OS and I forgot about it.
Pat is totally right in that first sentence. I figured a bit different
medium would allow me to overcome some of the perceived problems with
watercolour, but of course, every medium has its advantages and its
problems. It's just that from the outside, we see only the advantages.
Then when we dive in, not only do the disadvantages manifest themselves,
but we discover there's a whole new learning curve to attempt to clamber up.
Regarding Yupo, I have used it a couple of times and as long as I tried
it on paintings where I wanted a feel of flow and texture, it was a
hoot. I'd hate to have to try to do a portrait of an infant with it
however, or anything else where I wanted a smooth transition of colour
or value.
In the meantime as is said, watercolour sits there griining (smirking?)
at me
cheers
