Interesting.  Thanks for sharing that painting Phyllis.  The ones I tried on watercolour canvas 
were never sold. I personally liked the pieces.  But, the ones that I have seen on the paper which was stapled to the canvas were quite beautiful.  I am going to try the gesso on the paper first method, but I am not sure how the paint will work with that.  The absorbent gesso I bought says it is toxic.  I am always wary about that.  However, I do not try to eat it and will keep it off my hands.  Valerie

I have done one watercolor on watercolor canvas and , although I liked it , it was very challenging and different as the paint moves quite differently.  
It is very simple to correct but can be hard to make the paint "stick" at times.  Simple to spray with fixative and frame and looks nice and seems like it should be very durable.  As for dust, is easy to wipe off.  Attaching my painting; not the best but at least I managed to finish it.  Have bought a few more canvases but have yet to start another.  I like the ease of framing the most and the colors are more vibrant than on paper for some reason.
