[Aquanet] critique

Hi Everyone

"Midnight Marauder" is of an owl who crashed through my exotic pheasant pen, killed some very expensive birds, and then could not get out.  When I caught him up I got a few very good photos before letting him go.  I painted it in a couple of hours and it's done about life-size 8 x 11.

I need a few opinions.  I painted this Great Horned Owl yesterday, and now I can't decide whether it needs a background or not, and if it does, any suggestions?
