[Aquanet] gallery question

Hi, gang.

Mercy, we are still quiet, aren't we? The paint must be splashing like
mad all over the watercolour world.

Once again, I have a question: the gallery at which I have some pieces
has been sold to a woman who has retail sales experience, but no
background in art. No, wait! I think maybe her mother painted once. Or
maybe her grandmother? In any event, I know that she is pretty ignorant
about things artistic, and I'm wondering about the viability of the
gallery. I know that strictly speaking, the paintings are mine and the
gallery only has them on commission, but one does not want to get
tangled up in things that need a lawyer as I'm reminded of the quote
that goes something like this: "I was only ruined but twice: once when I
lost a court case, and once when I won one."

I know that my paintings will not sell if they are sitting in my
"studio" but I have heard a few horror stories about artists being
diddled by closing galleries. My present thinking is that I should only
have a very few, maybe four, paintings there at any one time. Does this
sound reasonable to you all or should I consider some other
alternatives? (BTW, my gallery is very close to our cottage at the lake,
so I can keep a pretty good eye on it)

As I said, any suggestions?

TIA
pat
