Have you all thought about using Facebook? Then you can put photos up on a "Group" page, but everyone has to join Facebook. Just remember not to put too much info out on your page and to look at the privacy area to ensure that your photos are set to "Friends only" viewing. Facebook is a very simple way to communicate with others.
A blog would require too many people to have a password for it to be able to upload on it. It is alright if one person was the maintainer of the blog, though blogs are not too onerous to keep up I think that doing it from so many people would be problematic.
