Sounds very exciting, Barry. I look forward to your article in Watercolour Gazette. I haven't seen the new colors myself, so I can't comment on the colors. Too bad about the PR 122, seems to me that is a staple now. I wonder if they consider Quinacridone Rose PV 19 a suitable substitute? I went to their web site and don't find the new colors posted yet. Nor do I find them on any of the major online retailers. Does anyone know where these paints are available?

  Subject: [Aquanet] New M.Graham paints

M.Graham & Company have recently doubled the number of paints offered in their watercolor line, and their range now offers most of the watercolor paints commonly used. The only important paint missing, in my opinion, is a high-saturation quinacridone magenta (PR122).

I like these new offerings, and some of them will go onto my palette right away, displacing some pretty good paints I have been using from other manufacturers. I especially recommend Quinacridone Rust, Nickel Azo Yellow, Cobalt Teal, Scarlet Pyrrol, and Bismuth Yellow.

Equivalent paints of almost all of their offerings are available from other top quality manufacturers as well (such as Winsor & Newton, Daniel Smith, and Schmincke), but the M.Graham paints offer their uniquely smooth handling qualities, including resistance to caking and drying on the palette. The only paint for which I have not found another "main-stream" offering is Ultramarine Pink (which is however available from Old Holland).

I am preparing a more detailed review, which will be submitted to Watercolour Gazette. It is too long to post here.
