[Aquanet] The future of this list

Decidedly, all that is needed is the right question to jolt all us
lurkers into contributing ! It's been a long time since so many
people have replied to a comment !

For my part, I do read everything that comes into the list, and since
I've been a member I've often benefited from bits of sage advice. I'm
sure that there are many beginning watercolorists who read the list
and are perhaps too shy to ask their questions - do it ! Even though
the same question might have been discussed on the list in the past,
there are probably a good number of people around who weren't here at
the time to read the answers and suggestions.

I always enjoy reading what other people are up to - if only to learn
that I'm not the only one on the planet in a slump or to overworked to
have time to paint.

OK. Here goes…

I just went back to work teaching after a half-year leave (a present
to me from me for my 50th). I spent the time doing a lot of painting
and trying to work on my “second career”. At the end of the summer, I
joined a group of artists who began a coop gallery last fall. I'm
quite excited about the project, as the gang are very dynamic and full
of ideas for getting customers in. I pay a monthly fee of $130, but
there is no commission to pay on sales. I have to work one day in
twelve, which works well into my schedule - I do my time on weekends,
and in any case my spouse usually works on weekends, and I can paint
while I'm at the gallery. I broke the ice my first week there by
making a sale, and it sure was nice to have the whole amount in my
pockets ! Now if only I can make a couple more to cover my expenses
for the coming year !

So that's what I'm up to !

Keep writing (and reading),

Mary
