[Aquanet] Future of the list...

I've enjoyed being on the list since 2004 when I was working on a
book I wrote. Since then, I've also connected many of my students to
the list.
I'm ambivalent about it continuing. I get so much email between work
and friends that I don't always feel motivated to respond. There are
many members who know each other from years of communicating who seem
to have closer conversations. I'm happy to "listen" or delete as my
interest waxes and wanes. But I don't always feel like I need to
participate. If we're "quiet," what's the harm in that in a noisy
world? Is it a question of whether it can stay funded to keep the
site up and running? I'm not sure as to how the "back end" of the
site works other than I appreciate the work Liz and Ray do to keep it
current and running. Perhaps lack of participation leaves you all
feeling weary! I certainly understand that.
I'm in the process of revamping my own website, so that has my
attention right now. I hope whatever is decided, the majority will be
content. My compliments to the visionary artists who started the
conversation in 1995. Its the best use of the internet, I think—a
forum where we can take what we like and leave the rest.
