[Aquanet] Painting / Masa paper

I've used the crinkled masa technique extensively for some years now.
It is 2-sided as Carol described. I had a piece disintegrate when I
first started. I had soaked it too long in its water bath (I use a
photo developing tray). I only leave it in for 10 seconds at a time
now - it could take more on the first soak, when the sizing is still
intact. I do open it out and paint on a piece of old blanket - I
think that helps it hold together. On my website, there's access to a
cartoon my daughter did of my method:

I don't find the masa paper interesting for direct painting without
the crinkling technique.

I've bought the masa from many different suppliers, and its always
been the same stuff. Cheap Joe's, ASW, Jerry's Art-a-Rama (does
anyone know the relationship, if any, between those last two?),
Blick, Utrecht, Asian paper stores, etc.

We are in the process of moving from Berkeley, CA to Bellingham, WA,
so I have to go back and pack.
