[Aquanet] creating deckled edges

I have created a deckled edge on 300# paper, but it isn't easy, nor is it
perfectly deckled. What I do is fold it in half, both ways, several times,
and eventually it actually starts to tear apart on its own. I've never
dampened the paper so maybe that's why it tears apart on its own. However,
the deckling isn't perfect. You might want to try on smaller pieces before
you go to a full sheet. I believe that the folding back and forth, and
pressing on it as well seems to do it for me.

Bonjour
I fold the paper, them put some water on the crease (the edge of the fold) ,
then take a knife you use to cut bread, the cut edge is deckled. You then
insert the knife between the two parts of the edges and slide while cutting
and holding the upper part firmly. I never tried with 300 lbs paper. It
sounds like a surgical instruction, isn't it ???
Hallowee'n is not very far....

Miriam, try this on a scrap piece to see if it works. Fold the paper if
it's 140# and then tear along the fold without using any tool. If you're
working on 300# paper, I'm afraid I cannot help.
Sigh...
