Your main difference in the colors down here will be the greens. They're much warmer than up at your latitude. Jeanne Dobie gave a great piece of advice about greens that I've used with success in every medium I work in. 

Take a green (whether straight from the tube or mixed), add a teeny bit of red (for down here, a warm red, which can be anything from a warm burnt sienna to a cad red) and then mix in a yellow. You can get a huge variety of very natural looking, warm greens.

  I was wondering if anyone could suggest a modest number of colours (acrylic and water)  to take to Jamaica.
