I've been using Nori Paste as an adhesive lately. It is a Japanese
rice starch product that was originally recommended to me by a Daniel
Smith employee. I like it better than the acrylic mediums and Yes!
glue, because I find it more pleasant to work with (no acrylic
residue on fingers and it smells lovely). It is acid-free.
I took a workshop in watercolor collage with Gerald Brommer a few
years ago. I remember his saying that the world of collagists was
somewhat more relaxed about the archival issues than the watercolor
universe. I highly recommend his book on collage (along with Nita's,
of course!).
