[Aquanet] painting on terra cotta pots?

Hi, here I am with yet another question. this is probably off-topic, but I
don't know who else to go to!

 

I have been asked by a friend to paint some things on some terra cotta pots,
and I have no idea what the best medium would be to use for this. Acrylic?
Tempera? Craft paint? Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you!!
